New World Resources Plc ('NWR' or the 'Company') is a Central European hard coal producer. The Company produces quality coking and thermal coal for the steel and energy sectors in Central Europe through its subsidiary OKD, a.s. ('OKD'), the largest hard coal mining company in the Czech Republic.
Strategically located within the region, NWR supplies to a blue-chip customer base in the region, including ArcelorMittal, U.S. Steel, voestalpine, Dalkia, CEZ, Verbund, Moravia Steel, and ThyssenKrupp.

In June 2014, New World Resources Plc and New World Resources N.V. agreed the key terms of a restructuring of the NWR Group's balance sheet and NWR NV moved its principal place of business and address to London. Headquartered in the Netherlands, NWR employs around 14,000 people including contractors, and is led by a world-class management team and Board with both global and regional experience.
As at 31 December 2015, coal reserves at NWR’s operating mines were estimated at 48 million tonnes, of which 4 million tonnes are in sensitive areas.
