OKD wins four communications awards

20/4/2009

New World Resources N.V. (“NWR” or “the Company”), Central Europe’s leading hard coal producer, announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary OKD, a. s. (“OKD” the largest hard coal mining company in the Czech Republic, has won four awards in the Czech Republic’s annual Golden Semicolon ceremony for corporate print and online communications.

The OKD Foundation, which supports environmental, health, education and sports initiatives and activities, was runner-up in the Best Company Profile category for its publication Life Should Have Depth. This was issued in 2008 at the launch of the OKD Foundation.

OKD’s website, www.okd.cz, received a “TOP Rated” Special Acknowledgement. The website was re-launched last year following a comprehensive redesign and expanded content.

OKD’s newspaper Horník (The Miner) and OKD’s 2007 Annual Report each received a “Rated” Certificate. Horník is issued each week with a print run of approximately 30,000 and is distributed to OKD’s employees and partners.  OKD’s Annual Report for 2007 was expanded compared with previous annual reports and featured OKD’s redesigned corporate identity.

The awards were accepted on behalf of OKD on Thursday in Prague by Petra Mašínová, Head of Corporate Communication for NWR.

The Golden Semicolon Awards (Zlatý středník) is an annual event organized by the Czech Professional Association PR Club, under the auspices of the Professional Association of PR Agencies, the publications Marketing Magazine and Strategie, the Czech Marketing Association, and other partners.
