New World Resources Plc (‘NWR’) has for more than a year cooperated with leading Czech companies in a corporate focus group called ‘Environmental Standards’, which comes under the auspices of Business for Society, a Czech forum that brings together companies which take a socially responsible approach to the environment and society.
The findings and conclusions of the Environmental Standards focus group have been summarised in ‘Business and the Environment’ publication (available in Czech only), which was presented at The Environmental Footprint of Business conference, recently held Prague. The publication presents a comprehensive reflection of corporate environmental strategies, their development and implementation in business, and their economic benefits and costs.
Environmental strategy is an integral part of NWR’s comprehensive sustainable development strategy. Performance is monitored by sustainability reporting which is conducted in line with Global Reporting Initiative guidelines. NWR will publish its Sustainability Report 2011 summarising sustainable development performance of NWR Group in that year.
