Sponsorship
NWR and its subsidiaries are amongst the most active sponsors and donors in the Czech Republic. The Company makes a significant contribution to the development of sport, education and cultural events which, because of our high profile, reach beyond the region.
Among others, the Company regularly supports:
- MFK OKD Karviná football club (1st division) with almost EUR 800,000 a year (general partner)
- HCB OKD Karviná handball club (premier league) with almost EUR 400,000 a year (general partner)
- Czech speed swimmer Ondřej Broda (holder of European title in swimming with fins in 2010)
NWR focuses on providing support to long-term cultural and educational projects e.g. The Shakespeare Festival at the Slezská Ostrava Castle, an international music festival Colours of Ostrava, Art Prague 2010 Contemporary Art Fair, River Film Festival in Písek, Institut and Festival OSTRAVA DAYS organised by the Ostrava Centre for New Music.
Other sponsorship activities in 2010 include support of the Czech Energy Security – Continuous public debate, Mining Industry Forum in Poland, 16th Enterpreteurs meeting in Ostrava organized by the Czech – Polish Chamber of Commerce, International Energy Club Ostrava 2010 (I.E.C), 11th International Conference "Investment & Business Forum in Ostrava, and Polish - Czech Energy & Investment Forum in Warszaw.
